About MongoTrader
A free, competitive paper-trading platform for practicing the markets with zero risk.
What MongoTrader is
MongoTrader is a trading simulator: you buy and sell stocks, ETFs, and crypto with simulated currency against real-time, exchange-grade market data. Every order behaves the way it would on a live exchange — the only thing that isn’t real is the money. It’s a place to learn how markets work, test strategies, and build confidence without risking a single dollar.
The platform covers tens of thousands of symbols across roughly ten asset classes, with crypto markets that never close. You get real order types (market, limit, stop, stop-limit, trailing stop), real portfolio mechanics (cash, buying power, margin, short selling), and live charts — all running on simulated capital.
What you can do
- Build portfolios and track equity, P&L, and positions in real time.
- Compete in leagues — free-to-enter, skill-based competitions with live leaderboards that rank traders by performance.
- Build trading algorithms with a no-code Algorithm Builder, backtest them across years of history, or connect through a developer API.
- Learn as you go with free guides in our Learn hub and blog.
Skill, not chance
MongoTrader’s competitions are free to enter and skill-based — results come from trading decisions on real market data, not luck. No purchase is ever necessary to take part, and all trading uses simulated money. MongoTrader is an educational and entertainment platform; nothing on it is financial advice, and simulated performance does not guarantee future results.
Who it’s for
Whether you have never placed a trade or you’re an experienced investor testing a new idea, MongoTrader gives you a realistic, low-pressure place to practice. Beginners learn the mechanics without losing money; experienced traders validate strategies before committing real capital.
The company
MongoTrader is operated by Mongo Technologies LLC. We believe the best way to learn trading is to do it — on real data, with real stakes for your ranking, but none of the financial risk. Questions or feedback? Visit our contact page.
